Changes
and promos galore!
(posted February 17, 2012) |
 |
Plenty
has been happening in the past week, with the posting of the
first four promos for our show on March 3. Jarek Craven is
looking forward to his title shot and clearly feels he has
turned the corner, but Ryan O'Hare is super confident in their
third meeting. Commissioner Phil Gluyas is frustrated and is
ready to take further action, but Iron Horse Morrison and Paul
Vaughan are not budging and seem to have something up their
sleeve! The playlist for the March 3 promos can be found on
our You Tube channel;
http://www.youtube.com/user/nawaustralia
Big
Huss has been forced by work commitments to pull out of the
show, and his place against Andy Rhodes has been taken by
Insano. In addition, Morphine and Tre have changed their team
name to the Burn City Cliq.
Hopefully
more promos will appear in the next few days, and the full
preview should be on site over this coming weekend. |

F.O.X and Josh Shooter taking on Xavier Black.

The
return of the Sheik
(posted February 9, 2012) |
 |
In
a shock development that has taken N.A.W by surprise,
Sheik Mohammed El Zacqwi, the former Heavyweight and
South Pacific champion, has returned after an absence of
two and a half years. He had been deported but his legal
eagles have got around the problem and he has made his
presence felt straight away by buying out Jake Lindo and
taking his shot at the South Pacific in the process.
An
infuriated Commissioner Phil Gluyas was quick to react
by firing Lindo on the spot, but he is at present unable
to do anything about the change in the card.
The
Sheik caused a lot of havoc last time he was here, but
as he had the then Commissioner in his back pocket he
got away with a lot. Gluyas has made it clear that he
won't be pushed around by the Middle Eastern loudmouth. |
Building
to the Winds of Change
(posted February 8, 2012) |
 |
The
build has started for the first Albion show for 2012, with the
four matches signed and confirmed at Melton Mayhem II.
Commissioner
Phil Gluyas is busy working on the remainder of the card,
while continuing to solidify the administration of New Age
Wrestling. It's proving to be a difficult task. Gluyas has
indicated however that there may not be a women's match at all
as he has been informed that Vixsin will in fact be
accompanying Mad Dog McCrea to Japan, and he is also having
trouble getting in touch with TJ Star. With Lowzen on the
shelf, Nikita Naridian may not have an opponent for the March
show.
Gluyas
is also weighing up his options regarding the future of Iron
Horse Morrison after what happened at Melton Mayhem II. Many
are tipping a suspension for the big man.
In
the coming days it is expected that more matches will be
announced and the full preview should be posted soon. |
The
woes of being Commissioner
(posted November 30, 2011) |
 |
Some
changes have been made to the card for the December 10 show, and
commissioner Phil Gluyas is reportedly a little frustrated at the
issues that are coming up now that he is in control. He told the
N.A.W website;
"I knew I was going to be in for a hard time, but I must say I
didn't expect it this soon. It reminds me a lot of what I saw while
I was umpiring football. People pulling out at the last minute for
various reasons - some quite fair but others highly suspect. I'm not
going to comment at this point on the changes in any detail until I
speak to a few people, but needless to say I never like making last
minute changes, least of all to my first show at the tiller!"
Facebook
will be an interesting read over the next week and a half. The
preview for the December 10 show has been adjusted accordingly. |
Dark
match announced for Albion
(posted November 9, 2011) |
 |
The
dark match for the show this coming Saturday at Albion has been
announced. It will be a six man tag team match with Sketch, Dread
(formerly Ivan Dread) and Lenny O'Laughlin taking on F.O.X,
debutante Klay Kannon, and the returning Mike Manson! Manson hasn't
wrestled at all in some time after a non wrestling related shoulder
injury, and his experience will be of benefit in this - particularly
for Cannon in his debut.
Six
man tags are always fun, but you have to be there at 7:30pm to see
the match. The doors open at 7pm. |

Scott
Slayer re-injures shoulder
(posted November 2, 2011) |
 |
Whilst
rehabilitating in the United States, it has been reported that Scott
Slayer re-injured his shoulder. Doctors have advised that in order
for Slayer to be 100 percent for his Last Man Standing match against
Jake Lindo he has to forgo his engagement in the six man tag team
match a week before at Albion. Slayer is reportedly annoyed with
this development, but he is willing to work to recover fully and has
accepted the advice he has been given.
This
now means that the six man tag originally scheduled for Zero Hour on
November 12 is under a cloud. Rumour is that James Jackson, at the
request of Jarek Craven and Andy Rhodes (who are members of the
Seven Deadly Sins), has approved the change to a handicap match.
This is bad news for Josh Shooter and Mad Dog McCrea in the lead up
to their respective matches at War Games, given the likelihood of
double and triple teaming in order to hurt them. The lack of
equality fits right in to the modus operande of James Jackson and
the Sins. |

Dark
Match for Rules of Engagement
(posted October 14, 2011) |
|
The
dark match for Saturday October 15 has been announced.
At 7:30pm, Sketch and F.O.X will meet
one on one. For both men this is their second match after each man
lost in their respective debuts to Barry Lawrence. Both have been
impressing in training and both would be looking to step up after
their debuts to try to get into consideration for a place on the
main show in the future. This will be a competitive match up, so get
to the N.A.W Arena early to see these two go at it.

Exchange
of words on Facebook
(posted October 13, 2011) |
|
When Phil Gluyas responded to James Jackson's allegations and the video was first displayed on Facebook before being presented on our You Tube channel, a nasty exchange of words erupted in the comments areas of the Facebook video. Here is what James Jackson said when he first saw the video on Facebook and the reply;
"Given this video is posted on Facebook I think it counts as both libel AND slander. You look tired, Phil, like something has been keeping you up at nights. But you won't have to worry much longer - come November and it will all be over. For you that is. I'm just getting started."
"LMAO @ James! I'm sleeping fine! You're the one who's going to be having sleepless nights when you find out who's on my team! I told the truth - and that's the perfect defence in defamation! I should know!"
There is clearly a huge amount of angst between the N.A.W Commissioner and the N.A.W Stage Manager and Commentator. Who knows? With all this legal talk we could see this up before a judge in the Magistrate's Court! However Gluyas has told N.A.W that his preference is similar to the line taken by Triple H in WWE. To sort it out in the ring, and most likely in the cage match at Mulgrave. The show this Saturday at Albion can not be missed to see how the Rules of Engagement develop! |

James
Jackson responds to Phil Gluyas
(posted October 7, 2011) |

In
the lead up to Rules of Engagement in a little over a week's time at
Albion, the N.A.W Commissioner has responded to the comments of Phil
Gluyas from his home in Toorak. In this revealing video, Jackson
speaks of a division in the N.A.W locker room as well as giving
notice of a possible damages claim against Gluyas and New Age
Wrestling.
